How much weight can a landscape utility trailer hold?

That depends on a few factors! However, for trailers 12 feet long or less, the average cargo load capacity is typically around 2,200 pounds. Contact us to learn more about the specific trailer you are looking at.

What information do I need to consider when determining the load of my utility trailer?

The two main factors to consider are the tow load on your vehicle and the weight capacity of your trailer. But that's not all! For more information call our team at LOE Trailer Sales and we'd be happy to help you determine what landscaping trailer is right for your job.

Do all trailers need to be registered in NY? What do I need to get my trailer registered?

NYS requires trailers that weigh (empty) over 1000 pounds OR have a GVW of 3000 and above to be issued a NYS Title. This is considered a TRL. If your trailer does not meet either of these requirements, you will be issued a transferable registration. You'll need a filled-out application (Form MV-82) Statement of Transaction (Form DTF-802) New York State trailer bill of sale and proof of sales tax payment and original title in order to get your trailer registered.

Do I need to get an inspection for my trailer?

Your trailer must have an annual safety inspection. A DMV-licensed inspection station that inspects passenger vehicles and other light-duty vehicles can inspect a trailer. The inspector will give you the inspection sticker. Carry the inspection sticker in the vehicle that tows the trailer.
